Our consulate or embassy certified translation services make it easy to prepare your translated documents for presentation to foreign authorities. Our mother-tongue translators ensure that your documents are accurately translated, using the proper forms of address or writing style for the authority in question. Then, our in-house team prepares your translated documents for legalisation, ensuring suitability for official use in more than 200 languages. We provide certified consulate translation services for individuals, independent businesses, and both public and private-sector organisations. We translate and certify all forms of documents required by consulates and embassies, including birth certificates, passports, marriage certificates, death certificates, articles of incorporation, and memoranda of understanding.

You need consulate or embassy certified translation services if you have been asked to provide official documents in support of an application, business transaction, personal matter, or other action in a country in which you are not a resident. For official purposes, your documents must be translated and then certified to attest to their authenticity. Our certification is a guarantee that the contents of the document are accurate and faithfully translated, and that the person or people to whom the document refers are who they claim to be. You may also hear consulate and embassy certified translation services referred to as ‘legalisation’, ‘notarisation’, or ‘apostille’. Apostilles in particular may be requested for documents that need to be presented at a consulate or embassy. The ‘apostille’ is a certificate affixed to your translation, which turns it into a naturalised document of the country in question. Our consulate and embassy certified translation services include an Apostille.
We offer our consulate and embassy certified translation services in standard and fast-track form. Our notarial department keeps extended office hours to accommodate urgent requests, and we deliver certified consulate and embassy translations safely to destinations around the world, always using the quickest and most secure forms of postage and courier delivery to ensure your translated documents are delivered quickly.

Our experience is that having your documents correctly certified can be confusing. At Absolute Translations we have a dedicated team organising certified, sworn, notarised and legalised/apostilled translations on a daily basis. We have over a decade of experience in certifying legal translations and our own dedicated Solicitor and Notary Public. By using our translation and certification services, you can save both time and money.
We offer both a standard and express service. However, for both these options the turnaround time will be based on the number of words and level of certification required. Despite the fact that we offer a faster service, we always advise our customers to certify their documents as far in advance as possible. You may use our calculator tool, to calculate the price & turnaround time.
Each authority and country have different requirements. These requirements also change at times. We always advise customers to check with the authority requesting the translation which level of certification will be required, prior to placing the order.
We do not need the original documents for most circumstances. Photocopies can be scanned and sent by email, posted or alternatively handed into one of local offices. Documents may also be uploaded by using the certification calculator here on the right. The originals of some documents that are being Legalised/Apostilled may be required. Originals are normally required for Criminal Record Disclosures, Court documents or any document that is issued by a UK Registry Office, if they need to be Legalised/Apostilled.
Certified translations can either be collected or will be posted back to our customers. Email copies will not normally be valid for official use.
The price is calculated based on the number of words and level of certification required. You may also use our calculator tool, to calculate the price & turnaround time.
We are unable to make a declaration for certification on any translation that we have not carried out ourselves. Therefore, before we can certify the translation we would need to re-translate the document. If however the original document is already in the required language and you only need the service of a Solicitor or Notary Public, please contact us and discuss your requirements directly.
Translated document certified and presented in a securely-fastened folder. This type of translation is normally accepted in the UK by most authorities.
For the purpose of translation authentication, some jurisdictions require commercial or personal documents that have been translated, or that were issued in another country, to be notarised before they can be legally recognised. In this case, a Notary Public will affix a notarial certificate to attest the validity of the translation. Notarisation is normally carried out on the same day. However, this may vary depending on the number of documents and their complexity. We offer a full range of notary translation services both to individual customers and businesses, and provide a high quality, fast and efficient service.
British documents being used for business or personal use overseas may need to be legalised or contain an Apostille (stamp of authenticity) before they can be officially recognised and accepted. The Foreign & Commonwealth Office legalisation or Apostille guarantees that the translated document is genuine. The term ‘Apostille’ is also commonly used in English to refer to the legalisation of a document for international use. Currently, most documents from the United Kingdom can be legalised, providing they bear the original signature, stamp or seal of an official UK public body. Photocopies of certain documents may be accepted. Please ask us for more information.
